“Combustion Engine” Grade 5-6  is a 2-page science and technology lesson pack.  As with all units of work on Tutoring Primary, improving literacy is a central focus.  This  is written for upper Primary School. Depending on the student/s it could work well with Year 7.

What’s in “Combustion Engine” :

>>The text explains the process of burning fuel in the cylinders to create energy.
Uses terms: cylinders, spark plug, oxgyen mix and valves. 
>>Activities: Find two diagrams, copy, label and explain.
>> Introduces the Fire Triangle.
>>Language tasks: changing form, match word meanings, and others.

This is a compact lesson/s, ready to use. Any teacher can be confident in the content and teach to the task. Non-teachers such as parents, possibly tutors, can also use this by letting the content take the lead.
