Description

“Lady Bay”  Grade 3-4

“Lady Bay” Grade 3-4 is a 3-page literacy unit for middle primary school students. This beautiful coastal town in Western Victoria, Australia, is full of surprises. Its early buildings in the centre of town have their original colours after restoration. An old ship’s anchor, dry stone walls and a small lighthouse help students to understand the past.

This unit is more fun than work.  The text is page 1 with a colour image of the town. Literacy activities (page 2) follow:
>>Matching words to form compound words;
>>Forming plurals: self — selves, and roof — roofs.
>>Contractions: doesn’t and couldn’t.

Page 3 is an A4 size sketch of the town for students to colour.
